Forged eye bolts are drop forged in one piece so the eye cannot open under load, which makes them suitable for lifting where a bent eye bolt is not. We stock them in Umm Al Quwain from M12 to M42 in carbon and alloy steel, self colour and hot-dip galvanized, with rated working loads.
A forged eye bolt has a solid eye forged integrally with the shank. Collared (shoulder) eye bolts have a shoulder under the eye that seats on the load and permit angular lifts within the rated table; plain-shank eye bolts are for vertical lifts only. Forged eye bolts are used as lifting points on machinery, moulds and skids, and as heavy-duty anchor and tie points.
Applications
- Lifting points on machinery, gearboxes and moulds
- Rigging, guy and stay anchors
- Crane, hoist and lifting beam attachments
- Container, skid and equipment tie-downs
- Marine, mooring and dock fittings
- Structural cable and catenary anchors
