Through bolts are set directly through the fixture into a hole the same diameter as the bolt, which makes them the fastest post-installed anchor for base plates, brackets and racking. We stock them in Umm Al Quwain from M6 to M24 in zinc plated, hot-dip galvanized and stainless A4, with CE / ETA-rated types on request.
A through bolt (wedge anchor, expansion bolt) is a threaded stud with a wedge clip or expansion sleeve at the embedded end. After drilling through the fixture into the concrete, the anchor is hammered in and the nut tightened, pulling the cone into the clip and locking it against the hole wall. Because the hole and bolt are the same diameter, alignment is automatic and the fixture is held tightly.
Applications
- Steel base plates and machine feet on concrete
- Racking, mezzanines and storage systems
- Cable trays, pipe supports and brackets
- Barriers, bollards and guard rails
- Curtain wall, canopy and signage fixings
- Seismic bracing and restraint (rated types)
