GI bolts — hot-dip galvanized mild steel hex bolts in grade 4.6 — are the everyday outdoor fastener on Gulf sites, and we keep a deep stock in Umm Al Quwain from M6 to M64 and ¼" to 2", with galvanized nuts and washers, in full and half thread.
A GI hex bolt is a low-carbon (mild) steel bolt, property class 4.6 or 5.6, coated by hot-dip galvanizing to give a thick zinc layer that protects against rust for decades outdoors. Because the coating is thick the nut is tapped oversize to fit. GI bolts are used where corrosion resistance matters more than strength: fencing, towers, guard rails, cable trays and general steelwork.
