Double end studs have a short thread on one end for tapping into a housing and a longer thread on the other for the nut. We manufacture them in our Umm Al Quwain plant in stainless and carbon steel, M5 to M30, to DIN 938, 939 and 835 or to your length and thread split.
A double end stud (tap-end stud) is threaded at both ends with a plain shank between. One end is screwed permanently into a tapped hole in a casting, flange or machine body; the other takes the nut. DIN 938 has a tapping length of 1×d, DIN 939 1.25×d and DIN 835 2×d, matched to the strength of the housing material — steel, cast iron or aluminium respectively.
Applications
- Engine, gearbox and pump housing studs
- Valve and flange studs into cast bodies
