Dome nuts finish a bolt end with a closed cap that covers the thread, protecting people from sharp edges and the thread from damage. We stock DIN 1587 in Umm Al Quwain from M3 to M30 in stainless A2 / A4, zinc-plated steel and brass.
A dome nut (cap nut, acorn nut) is a hex nut with a domed closed end. It is used on exposed bolt ends in handrails, playground equipment, furniture, vehicle bodies and architectural fixings, both for safety and for a clean finish. Because the cap is closed, the bolt must not project beyond the nut thread depth — length is critical. High (DIN 1587) and low (DIN 917) forms are available.
Applications
- Handrails, balustrades and glass fixings
- Playground and public furniture
- Bus, truck and trailer bodies
