Pal nuts are stamped spring-steel locking nuts used over a standard nut to stop it loosening, or on their own to hold light parts on a stud or pin. We stock them in Umm Al Quwain from M4 to M30 in zinc-plated and galvanized spring steel, brass and stainless.
A pal nut (palnut, speed nut) is a single-thread nut pressed from spring steel with a cupped rim. Screwed onto a bolt above a standard nut and tightened a quarter turn, its arched form deflects and locks the thread, holding the primary nut against vibration. Pal nuts are cheap, light and fast to fit, and are also used alone on push-on studs for trims, panels and mouldings.
Applications
- Locking hex nuts on vehicles and machinery
- Electrical cabinets, meters and panels
- Light fittings, signage and trims
- Appliance and HVAC assembly
- Furniture and fixture hardware
- Push-on retention of pins and studs
