DIN 928 square weld nuts are welded onto sheet metal to give a threaded fixing point where a loose nut cannot be reached. We stock them in Umm Al Quwain from M4 to M24 in plain low-carbon steel for projection welding, together with DIN 929 hex weld nuts.
A DIN 928 weld nut is a square nut with four projections (weld nibs) on one face. Placed on the sheet with the projections down, a resistance welder passes current through the nibs and fuses them to the sheet in a fraction of a second, leaving a strong, flush threaded boss. The square shape is easy to locate in automated feeders and resists rotation once welded.
