About this product

Hex Nut explained

Hex nuts are the most-stocked item in our Umm Al Quwain warehouse — DIN 934 / ISO 4032 from M3 to M125 and imperial to 4", in class 6, 8, 10 and 12, stainless A2 / A4, black, zinc plated and hot-dip galvanized (tapped oversize). Heavy hex, thin, fine-thread and left-hand nuts are stocked alongside.

A hex nut is a six-sided nut that mates with a bolt or stud to make the joint. Property class must match the bolt (class 8 with 8.8, class 10 with 10.9, class 12 with 12.9) so the nut is never the weakest link. DIN 934 and ISO 4032 are the general-purpose standard nuts; ISO 4033 is the high (thicker) nut; DIN 6915 / ASTM A563 are heavy hex structural nuts. Stainless nuts follow ISO 3506-2.

Applications

  • Structural steel and PEB connections
  • Machinery, plant and equipment assembly
  • Piping and flange joints with hex bolts
  • Anchor bolts and threaded rod hangers
  • Vehicle, trailer and marine fittings
  • Maintenance and MRO stock on every site

Frequently asked

Hex Nut — FAQ

Which class of nut for an 8.8 bolt?

Class 8. Use class 10 with 10.9 bolts and class 12 with 12.9. A higher class nut on a lower class bolt is acceptable; the reverse is not.

What is the difference between DIN 934 and ISO 4032?

ISO 4032 nuts are slightly thicker for most sizes and some across-flats differ (M10, M12, M14, M22). Both are stocked; specify which your drawing calls for.

Do you stock M100 and larger nuts?

Yes — up to M125 class 8 from stock, larger to order, plus imperial to 4".
