We manufacture B8 and B8M stainless stud bolts in our Umm Al Quwain plant from certified 304 and 316 bar, thread-rolled full length and supplied with ASTM A194 Grade 8 / 8M heavy hex nuts. Class 1 (solution annealed) and Class 2 (strain hardened) are both available in ¼" to 3" and M12 to M64.
ASTM A193 B8 is austenitic stainless steel type 304 and B8M is type 316, the molybdenum-bearing grade with better resistance to chlorides and pitting. Class 1 studs are solution annealed for maximum corrosion resistance and high-temperature service; Class 2 are strain hardened for higher strength (up to 125 ksi tensile in small sizes). Stainless studs are used where carbon-steel B7 would corrode or contaminate the process.
Applications
- Seawater, desalination and marine piping
- Food, pharmaceutical and dairy process lines
- Chemical and chlorine service flanges
- Cryogenic and LNG connections
- Stainless steel pipework in water treatment
- Architectural and exposed structural fixings
