Our PTFE-coated stud bolts are ASTM A193 B7 studs manufactured in our Umm Al Quwain plant and finished with a Xylan fluoropolymer coating for corrosion resistance and low, consistent friction. They are supplied with matching coated ASTM A194 2H heavy hex nuts and are the standard bolting for offshore platforms, jetties and chemical plants in the Gulf.
Xylan (PTFE) coating is a thin fluoropolymer film applied over a zinc or phosphate base layer. It gives the stud a low, repeatable coefficient of friction — so torque converts to bolt tension accurately — and protects against salt spray for over 1,000 hours in ASTM B117 testing. The coating is available in blue (Xylan 1070), green (Xylan 1424) and other colours for grade identification on site.
Applications
- Offshore platforms, jetties and marine terminals
- Seawater cooling and desalination piping
- Chemical, fertilizer and sulphur plants
- Flange joints requiring accurate torque control
- Buried or splash-zone pipelines
- Tank farm and loading arm connections
Standards, grades & finishes
Studs to ASTM A193 B7 / B7M or B16, nuts to ASTM A194 2H / 2HM, coated to Xylan 1070, 1424 or 1052 per customer specification with dry-film thickness 20–30 µm. Threads UNC / 8UN Class 2A or metric 6g with nuts tapped to accommodate the coating. Salt-spray, coating thickness and adhesion reports supplied with the mill test certificate.
Anchor bolts, studs and plate washers are manufactured in our own ISO 9001:2015 plant in Emirates Modern Industrial Area, Umm Al Quwain, with calibrated in-house dimensional and thread inspection. Tensile, hardness and chemical testing is carried out by independent UAE-accredited laboratories, and EN 10204 3.1 certificates are issued with every batch. We supply across the GCC, MENA and Africa.
