Plate washers are one of the three products we manufacture ourselves. They are cut from certified plate, drilled or punched to your hole size and finished in our Umm Al Quwain plant — square, round or rectangular, from 3 mm to 40 mm thick, in carbon steel, alloy steel and stainless. They ship with our anchor bolts as a set or separately in bulk.
A plate washer is a thick, large-diameter washer used under a nut where the bearing area of a standard washer is not enough — over slotted or oversized holes in base plates, on soft materials such as timber, or on anchor bolts where the washer must spread the load over the concrete or plate. Square plate washers are standard for anchor bolt sets and holding-down bolts; round plate washers are used where the washer must fit a recess or pocket.
Applications
- Anchor bolt sets and holding-down bolt assemblies
- Column base plates with oversized holes (AISC / BS 5950)
- Timber and glulam structural connections
- Formwork and tie-rod bearing plates
- Tower, mast and guy anchor bases
- Heavy equipment and machine hold-downs
