Thread Rolling

Thread rolling M12–M36 and ½"–2", in lengths from 50 mm to 400 mm. Stronger than a cut thread.

A rolled thread is formed by pressing the bar between dies rather than cutting metal away. The grain of the steel follows the thread form instead of being severed by it, and the surface is work-hardened in the process. The result is a thread with better fatigue life and higher strength than a cut thread of the same size — which is why it is the standard for anchor bolts and studs that carry real load.

What we use it for

  • Anchor bolt threads to ASTM F1554
  • Stud bolt threads to ASTM A193 B7
  • Threaded rod cut and rolled to length
  • Double-end and metal-end studs
  • Re-threading and thread extension on existing bars
  • Customer bar sent in for threading
Applies to the anchor bolts, studs and plate washers we manufacture, and to customer parts sent in for processing. Hex bolts, nuts, standard washers and other components are imported and supplied from stock.
