Bar Bending
Cold bending to M42 and hot bending to 100 mm — L, J and U anchor bolts and special forms, by grade.
Bending is where an anchor bolt gets its shape. Below a certain diameter the bar can be formed cold, which is faster and keeps the surface intact. Above it the bar must be heated, or the outside of the bend will crack. The changeover point depends on the grade, because a harder steel resists forming — which is why our ranges are stated separately for mild and high-tensile material.

- Large-diameter foundation bolts up to 100 mm
Applies to the anchor bolts, studs and plate washers we manufacture, and to customer parts sent in for processing. Hex bolts, nuts, standard washers and other components are imported and supplied from stock.
